Mobile mechanic in Shediac

Shediac runs on two calendars. In July, Main Street and the road out to Parlee Beach are packed. In February it's quiet, and the cars along Shediac Bay are sitting in salt air with the wind coming off the Northumberland Strait.

Salt air is hard on everything metal

Living by the water means your car gets salt from two directions: brine on the roads all winter and salty air the rest of the year. It shows up as crusty battery terminals, brake hardware that seizes, and rotors that rust on the edges faster than you'd think.

The fix is mostly catching it early. A corroded terminal can cause a no-start that looks exactly like a dead battery, and it's a much cheaper problem. Brake slide pins that get cleaned and greased before they seize save you a caliper later.

Cottage cars and the spring start-up

A car that sat all winter at a cottage in Pointe-du-Chêne or Shediac Cape often comes back to life badly. The battery is flat, the rotors have a coat of rust, and there may be a mouse nest somewhere you'd rather not know about.

Don't just boost it and drive to Moncton. Light surface rust on the rotors usually scrubs off in a few stops. Deep pitting or a pedal that feels wrong doesn't. We can test the battery and charging system, check the brakes and fluids, and tell you whether it's ready for the road before you're on Route 15 finding out.

Route 15 commuters

Plenty of people live in Shediac and drive Route 15 to work in Dieppe or Moncton every day. That's real highway distance, and oil changes and brake checks come around faster than you'd expect.

We can do the oil service in your Shediac driveway on a day off, or at your workplace lot in town if your employer's fine with it. Either way you're not losing an afternoon to a waiting room.

Shediac questions

Can you work at a Shediac apartment, condo or cottage rental lot?

Often, yes, as long as the owner or property manager is okay with it and there's safe room to work. Busy summer lots near the beach can be tricky, so tell us where the car is and we'll say whether it's workable.

What happens if the job needs a shop?

We take the vehicle into a shop and manage the repair through to the end. You get the price before work starts, and you don't have to find another mechanic and explain it all again.

My car has been sitting at the cottage since fall. Should I just boost it?

You can try once, but if it starts and then dies again, or the brakes feel off, stop there. A car that sat a whole winter is worth testing properly before you trust it on the highway.

Do you cover Pointe-du-Chêne, Scoudouc and Shediac Cape?

Those areas became part of the Town of Shediac in 2023, and nearby places like Shediac Bridge and Grande-Digue are close by too. Coverage is confirmed by postal code, so send yours when you book.
